Coming up….

Lots of fun things coming up in the next few weeks. Here are a few which I’m really looking forward to, hope you’ll consider attending one or all of them!

1st June – My group “Speaking In Django” returns for a gig at The Duke, Deptford. It’ll be great fun, a big swing party, bring a hot date.

10th June – With the London Philarmonic Orchestra in “Debut Sounds”. I’ll be playing guitar in Oliver Knussen’s “Music for a Puppet Court” at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre

17th June – Solo guitar gig! At Richard Strange’s world famous “Cabaret Futura” at The Paradise in Soho. I’m confirmed, other acts will be revealed on the night but in the past have been as eclectic as Grayson Perry, Michael Nyman and Gary Kemp!

24th June – I’m off to the States for 2 months… further details to follow…

TGQ at South Hill Park March 9th

Next Saturday a new group of mine, TGQ perform at South Hill Park arts centre in Bracknell. The idea behind this ensemble is to explore the influence of world music in improvisation and jazz, particularly the music of southern and west africa. After our well received debut performance at Ronnie Scotts last month I’m very much looking forward to playing with this group again.

Tickets can be purchased here, £6 if you buy in advance! http://www.southhillpark.org.uk/10151/shows/tom-gamble-quartet.html

The London Acoustic Guitar Show has pulled out all the stops to bring some of the world’s greatest acoustic guitarists and best-selling singer-songwriters together for a weekend of exceptional acoustic music – a one and only chance to watch these world-class artists perform on the same stage over one weekend. The show takes place at the Olympia Conference Centre, London on the 22nd and 23rd of September 2012, in association with Acoustic Magazine.

“We wanted to go the extra mile for 2012 – and that’s exactly what we’ve done. We’ve gathered some of the world’s finest acoustic guitar players and put them all under one roof. It’s not often that happens, but on September 22nd and 23rd we’ve made it so,” says Acoustic Magazine Editor and show organiser, Guy Little.

“There’s a real mix of artists catering for people of all ages and ability level, from chart-topping acts like Newton Faulkner, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Feeder and Finley Quaye right through to the likes of Andy McKee, Laurence Juber, Jim Moray, Gordon Giltrap, Massimo Varini and Jon Gomm.”

The show invites an enthusiastic audience, both young and old, through its doors to be a part of the wonderful world of acoustic guitars and music. With inspiring Main Stage performances, informative clinics in the Masterclass Suite, introductions to the future talent on the Acoustic Café stage and an impressive display of gear in the exhibition hall, this is the only UK show dedicated to the acoustic guitar lover.

“We’ve been overwhelmed at how much industry support we’ve had for this show which is evident in the quality of the exhibitors that’ll be appearing alongside the artists. This is the biggest and best acoustic show in the UK and it’s only £15 – what a bargain!” Visitors should move quickly to secure tickets for this event with a line-up not seen anywhere else.

Looking forward to the future of the London Acoustic Guitar Show, Guy Little states, “It’s a step in the right direction for The London Acoustic Guitar Show and Acoustic Magazine, setting a real benchmark for 2013′s show. Watch this space”.

To celebrate the London Acoustic Guitar Show a special, bumper-issue of Acoustic Magazinefeaturing an exclusive interview with Andy McKee and related show artists and gear, will be on sale on August 30th.

Full artist line-up and exhibitor list is available online www.londonacousticguitarshow.com
